mBit Casino was set up in 2014. This is a Bitcoin only casino with games played in your browser. The site is owned by the mBet Group, and is licensed and run from Curacao. Primarily, you’ll find the instant-play games from BetSoft and Novomatic here, with more than 150 titles in total. In addition there is a live-dealer casino. This is supplied by a 3rd party live dealer specialist and is included in the CoinGaming platform package which mBit runs on.
This page takes you through the mBit Bitcoin casino in detail. First of all you’ll find information on the financial side, including their bonus deals, ongoing offers and the BTC deposit and withdrawal process. Next the games are covered, first the standard slots and table game selection – followed by the live dealer offerings. Finally I look at the trust signals and user ratings of this casino, assessing whether or not they are legitimate.
- Sublicensed by CoinGaming in Curacao
- Excellent choice of slot games
- Great live dealer suite
- Complaints of unlicensed games
- Support is not 24 hours
- Bonuses could be better
mBit Casino Financials
The welcome bonus at mBit is a 25% match up to 1 BTC. When you deposit, 2 different balances are created, one real money balance and 1 bonus balance. Your wagers will come from your money balance first, and the bonus coins used once that account is emptied. You’ll have 30 days to wager the bonus amount 40 times. If you do not meet this target, then your bonus and any winnings accrued from it will expire and be removed from your account.
As with most casinos, the contribution of different games to your wagering requirements is tiered. Slots, lottery and ‘other games’ (novelty games) count at 100%, while video poker, table games and the live dealer games only count at 10%. The dice and lottery section of the site does not count at all.
When no-deposit bonuses are running then the terms are the same as above. Though you will need to make a deposit before you can withdraw any of your winnings.
Registration and Depositing
Registration is very fast at mBit, you just choose a screen name and password, enter your e-mail address and you are good to go. There is no e-mail verification at this casino.
There is a deposit and withdraw button at the top right of every screen. Deposit takes you to a screen with a Bitcoin receiver’s id (string) to use for your deposit, or a QR code if you are using an app based wallet. You simply enter this into your wallet’s ‘Send’ function and confirm. This can take up to 30 minutes, though was available in just over 2 minutes for me. Withdrawing is even easier, you just enter your Bitcoin address and the amount in mBTC, and then hit withdraw.
Compared to other BTC casinos mBit are quick and clear in the transactions area. If they would add a few more bonuses and promotions on top, they could compete with the top sites in the industry.
Games Available at the mBit Casino
You’ll find a mostly BetSoft titles in the main games selection of this casino (simply labelled ‘Casino’). You can try out the games, or play them for BTC right from your browser. There is no download option, the games use Flash and Java code, and will also render for Macs and play in most tablets. iPhone and smartphone users will find many of the games need a bigger screen size to play optimally – though some have been fully adapted.
Out of the 132 games in total, 16 are jackpot slots. The visually stunning BetSoft slots are a must-see, with 3D animations and ‘cartoon-like’ bonus rounds – they are unlike the slots of any other software provider. You can see the max / min bets by hovering your mouse over the slots before you play. These range between 1mBTC and 150 mBTC.
Table games include all the usual favourites, though only a couple of each type. Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Baccarat and several casino poker variations are available. There are mini-games which have been designed to work on smartphone screens here too.
Rounding out the healthy selection of virtual games are Video Poker (15 titles) and Keno (4 types).
You can also play Live-Dealer games for Bitcoin at mBit casino. These are streamed from a casino studio and include Roulette, Blackjack, and Baccarat. If you manage to ignore the rather frightening (badly photo shopped) dealer pictures, then the games themselves are very smooth. You bet virtually, and the croupiers deal the cards (or spin the wheels) in real time. The smallest bets are just 1 mBTC – so this is accessible to all players and not just the high rollers
An alternative live-hosted area is the ‘Dice and Lottery’ section, these are games of chance including lottery ball draws, a dice game with 5 dice and a poker themed betting game. They are timed, with some kicking off every 2 minutes and others 5 minutes apart. When I played, all of them were hosted by attractive blondes.
mBit Casino Trust Factors and Final Thoughts
New casinos, especially those accepting BTC, have not had long enough online to establish a reputation with players. This means that the minor trust factors become even more important.
The software powering this casino is run by CoinGaming.io – who are licensed and run from Curacao, in the Netherlands Antilles. Their license information is clearly displayed, and the same software powers several other Bitcoin casinos.
There is a lot of background information on Bitcoins at the mBit site, though nothing on the fairness and integrity of the games or RTP percentages. I can understand the focus on those unsure about Bitcoin; however this seems to be a major omission which would put off many experienced casino players. I would also like to see more information on minimum and maximum withdrawals clearly displayed at this casino.
Having said that, there is nothing to indicate that mBit is not legitimate at this point. Over the next couple of years we will find out which Bitcoin casino builds the best reputation for great service and a great game selection, for my BTC, mBit has the potential to be one of those casinos which break through. This casino has a great selection of games, a decent bonus and thus far, a good reputation with players. So I’ll rate them a B+ for now. If they make it another 6 months with a similar good rep, they will likely be deserving of an A.
